Competitive rugby returns as our Senior Men’s 1st XV begin the 2026/27 season in the Colm O’Shea Cup.

The fixture brings together last season’s cup winners, with Metropolitan Cup champions Suttonians RFC taking on Leinster Towns Cup champions Athy RFC.

There will be a number of new faces pulling on the Suttonians jersey for the first time. Congratulations to our five starting debutants:

The game also marks a major milestone for Dean Moore, who earns his 50th cap for Suttonians RFC.

Dean joined the club in 2023, making his Suttonians debut against Enniskillen. Since then, his wealth of experience has played an important role in helping develop the younger players coming through our senior setup, while he has established himself as a reliable presence in the second row for our Senior Men’s 1st XV.

During his time at the club, Dean has already added both a Metropolitan Cup and Spencer Cup to his honours. With 50 appearances now reached, there are hopefully plenty more caps – and silverware – still to come.

Congratulations to Dean on a fantastic club milestone, and to TJ, Eugene, Ted, David and Matthew as they prepare to make their Suttonians debuts.
