Suttonians Business Lunch – A Huge Success for Our Club
What an afternoon for Suttonians RFC!
Last Friday, 23 October, we welcomed 200 guests to a sold-out Suttonians RFC Business Lunch at the Marine Hotel, bringing together club members, sponsors, local businesses, former players and friends of Suttonians for a truly memorable occasion.
We are delighted to announce that the event has raise fund beyond our expectations, an incredible result that will make a significant contribution towards the ongoing restoration, maintenance and development of our club facilities.
While the funds raised represent a fantastic achievement, the atmosphere in the room was every bit as valuable.
Seeing so many people come together in support of Suttonians was a powerful reminder of the strength of our club community. The conversations, connections and shared enthusiasm for the future of Suttonians made the afternoon something particularly special.
We were delighted to welcome a fantastic group of familiar faces from the rugby community, including Gordon D'Arcy, Fergus McFadden, Aidan Kearney, Kevin McLaughlin and Jack McGrath, alongside our distinguished guest speakers Bernard Jackman and Dr. Ciaran Cosgrave.
Their presence, alongside the tremendous support of our sponsors, members and local businesses, helped make the event a resounding success.
A Thank You to Everyone Involved
A special thank you must go to the Marine Hotel for their superb hospitality. From the excellent food to the outstanding service and attention to detail throughout the afternoon, the team played a major role in making the event such an enjoyable experience for everyone in attendance.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the organisers, volunteers, sponsors, speakers and everyone who purchased a ticket or contributed to the event.
Events of this scale simply would not be possible without the generosity, commitment and support of so many people across our club community.
Looking to the Future
The success of this year's Business Lunch represents an important step forward for Suttonians RFC.
The funds raised will play a significant role in our ongoing plans to restore, maintain and improve our facilities, ensuring Station Road continues to provide a welcoming and high-quality environment for current and future generations of players.
Beyond the financial contribution, the event demonstrated the enormous potential of bringing our club and local business community together.
Following such a successful afternoon, we are already looking forward to building on this year's event and seeing what the years ahead have in store.
Thank you to everyone who made it possible.
Suttonians Players Earn Leinster Metro Recognition
It's another proud moment for Suttonians RFC as four of our young players have earned places in the Leinster Metro Development Squad ahead of next week's Shane Horgan Cup.
We are delighted to congratulate James Coffey, Louis Richardson, Luc Simeoni and Fionn Moran on their selection, a fantastic achievement and recognition of the hard work they have put into their rugby.
James, Louis and Luc are set to represent Leinster Metro in the upcoming fixture, while unfortunately, Fionn will miss out through injury.
Although unable to take the field on this occasion, Fionn's selection is equally deserving of recognition, and we have no doubt he would have been a strong contender for a starting position had he been fit.
Following in the Footsteps of Suttonians Greats
For many young rugby players, earning the opportunity to represent Leinster at any level is a moment they will remember for the rest of their lives.
The Leinster Metro Development Squad has long been an important stepping stone in the development of young rugby talent, and it is a pathway that several notable Suttonians players have followed before them.
Former Suttonians players including Andrew Feeney and Jack Aungier in addition to current Senior team players like Sean Cribbin and Darragh Kelly have all progressed through representative rugby pathways, going on to earn recognition with Leinster and Ireland at various levels.
Their journeys demonstrate the opportunities that can emerge from youth rugby and the importance of the development structures within clubs like Suttonians.
For James, Louis, Luc and Fionn, this recognition is another exciting step in their rugby journeys and a reflection of the commitment they have shown throughout their time at Station Road.
It is also a proud moment for their families, coaches and teammates, all of whom have played an important role in supporting their development.
Best of Luck, Lads!
On behalf of everyone at Suttonians RFC, we would like to wish James Coffey, Louis Richardson and Luc Simeoni the very best of luck as they prepare to represent Leinster Metro in the Shane Horgan Cup next week.
We also wish Fionn Moran a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back on the pitch soon.
Enjoy every moment of the experience, lads. You've done yourselves, your families and your club proud!
One Club, One Community
From the incredible generosity shown at our Business Lunch to the achievements of our young players progressing through the Leinster rugby pathway, this week has provided plenty of reasons to be proud of Suttonians RFC.
Both occasions reflect what makes our club special: a community that supports one another, celebrates achievement and continues to invest in the future.
Thank you to everyone who continues to play their part in making Suttonians the club it is today.
