It was with sadness that we heard of the sudden passing yesterday of Honorary Life Member Gregory Lynch.
Gregory was a former player in the 50s, long time Hon. Secretary for the Club and a former Leinster Branch referee.
He was brother to Mark Lynch and past President Bryan Lynch and uncle to former 1st team player John Lynch and current Club referee Marcus Lynch.
Gregory was probably the youngest Hon. Secretary in the Clubs history taking over from Seamus Henry in 1955 when he was only 16 or 17. Gregory was also for many years one of the Clubs stewards at Lansdowne Road for International matches and was made an Honorary Life Member during the Presidency of Sidney Grant in the 1960s.
On behalf of our President Andy Johnston and our Committee we would like to extend our sincere condolences to Bryan, Mark, John, Marcus and the extended Lynch family.
The funeral will take place on Thursday, 2nd October in the Church or the Assumption, Howth at 10am. No flowers on request of the family, donations, in lieu to the Franciscan Foreign Missions, Merchants Quay.
