Suttonians Rugby Football Club continues to be a hive of activity not only at weekends but throughout the week, with strong engagement from local schools.

On Wednesday, 11th March, the club welcomed over 60 students aged between 12 and 15 to the grounds, enjoying an afternoon of rugby and coaching.

First year students from St Fintan’s High School recorded an impressive win against a competitive Gonzaga side, showing great teamwork and skill. Meanwhile, second and third year students took part in a coaching session led by Suttonians first team player Blaise Barnes, who put the group through a series of challenging drills and exercises.

The club also hosted students from St Mary’s Baldoyle, where the girls took part in a tag rugby session led by our CCRO Dan Copperthwaite, with assistance from PE teacher Robbie Fennell. The session provided a great introduction to the game while encouraging teamwork and participation.

It was another fantastic example of the strong relationship between Suttonians RFC and our local schools, and we look forward to welcoming the students back again soon.
